My name is Roman Kopecky. I live with my mother, father and younger sister. I was born in 1981 in the second capital city of formal Czechoslovakia, Bratislava. Czechoslovakia was part of the Eastern block which means part which was ruled by the Russian Union. As a five years old I've visited Canada and US for the first time. I loved english language, and in my 3th grade I started to learn english as my second language. It was right before communism felt down in 1989. At this time my country became federative, named Czechoslovak Federative Republic. After January, 1993 this two countries split and became new two democratic republics, Czech Republic and The Slovak Republic (also named Slovakia). Since May 1st 2004 The Slovak Republic is a member of the European Union. I live now in a capital of The Slovak Republic. For the second time I went to Canada for a summer in 1995. I went for a year as an exchange student to USA in school year 1997/98.
I have visited USA in summer 1999, where I went to the WOODSTOCK 99'! That was something... Last time I went to US in summer 2004 with Work and Travel program. Nice experience...but Slovakia is Slovakia... :)
